Antropologia e Antirracismo.
Resumo curto / Short abstract
Este painel tem como objetivo reunir as pesquisas antropológicas e multidisciplinares, finalizadas e em andamento, acerca do racismo em Portugal. Sabe-se que tal fenómeno/problemática recebeu atenção das Ciências Sociais nos últimos anos e seria pertinente aproximá-las para esboçar um mapeamento do campo antirracista – sua configuração, dinámica, regularidade e situação atual.
Resumo longo / Long abstract
Propor um mapeamento do campo antirracista por meio de um painel pode ser um exercício viável de reflexão sobre as múltiplas abordagens e expressões do racismo na sociedade portuguesa. É mais do que reunir pesquisas ligadas ao racismo ambiental, racismo epistemológico, racismo linguístico, racismo institucional, racismo religioso, à educação antirracista e às produções artísticas e culturais. É possibilitar que a Antropologia reforce seu compromisso social e reconheça suas potencialidades. É fazer uso do espaço académico para pensá-lo e repensá-lo sem desprezar a criticidade, o teor metodológico/teórico e a precisão científica. É experimentar as recomendações do Conselho Nacional de Educação (2020) no Ensino Superior, colaborar com o Plano de Combate ao Racismo e à Discriminação (2021) e celebrar a Década Internacional de Afrodescendentes (2015-2024). Prestar esse serviço pode ser considerada uma iniciativa antropológica de reparar danos científicos e históricos ao articular suas produções e visibilizar produtores, aproximar considerações e assegurar a legitimidade e a urgência de mais pesquisas para fundamentar ainda mais o combate ao racismo em Portugal pela ciência. O que fazemos e podemos fazer juntos? O que a Antropologia pode fazer por nós?

This panel aims to bring together completed and ongoing anthropological and multidisciplinary research on racism in Portugal. It is known that this phenomenon/problem has received attention from the Social Sciences in recent years and it would be pertinent to bring them together to outline a mapping of the anti-racist field – its configuration, dynamics, regularity and current situation.

It’s using the academic space to think and rethink it, without neglecting its critique, the methodological/theoretical content and scientific precision. It means experimenting the recommendations of the National Council of Education (2020) in Higher Education, collaborating with the Plan to Combat Racism and Discrimination (2021) and celebrate the International Decade of Afro-descendants (2015-2024). Providing this service can be considered an anthropological initiative to repair scientific and historical damage by articulating their productions and making producers visible, bringing together considerations and ensuring the legitimacy and urgency of more research to further support the struggle against racism in Portugal. What do we do and can we do together? What can anthropology do for us?
