As mãos questionam o que podem ter em comum com as mãos cobertas por cimento, por lama, por pó, vestidas de luvas azuis de construção civil e amarelas de limpeza. Essas mãos que, ao invés de construírem casas, abrem janela, repetem imagens, esticam sons, constroem filmes.
The hands question what they can have in common with hands covered in cement, in mud, in dust, dressed in blue construction gloves and yellow cleaning gloves. Those hands which, instead of building houses, open windows, repeat images, stretch sounds, construct films.

A pandemia de Covid-19 interrompe as minhas aulas no Rio de Janeiro, e faz-me regressar à casa da minha infância. Em Copacabana, vou descobrindo imagens de resistência, enquanto a extrema direita vocifera insultos e ameaças de morte. Fecho os olhos, e reconheço o desejo de permanecer junto ao mar. Uma viagem construída através de arquivos e reflexos, na ponte entre Portugal e o Brasil.
The Covid-19 pandemic interrupts my classes in Rio de Janeiro and makes me return to my childhood home. In Copacabana, I start discovering images of resistance, while the extreme right hurls insults and death threats. I close my eyes and recognize the desire to remain by the sea. A journey built through archives and reflections on the bridge between Portugal and Brazil.
